How We Pack Kimchi to Ensure It Stays Safe
- Package & Delivery Business days
Our Packing Process: Kimchi Delivery
1. Packages: Boxes
During the kimjang process, it was customary for households to prepare a couple of geun (a traditional Korean unit of weight) of pork, boiling it and setting it aside along with the tender yellow inner leaves of napa cabbage and seasoning.

2. Protection: Bubble Wrap, Insulated Wraps, & Plastic Bags
Individual items are packed in separate plastic bags to prevent leakage through the air hole in the lid of the 450g container (valve sticker: This allows gases inside the packaging to be released naturally, helping to maintain the freshness and quality of the kimchi while also preventing the risk of the product bursting due to gases released from the kimchi).

2kg, 4kg, and 10kg bags in a plastic bag
3. Control temperature: Dry ice packs and insulated wrap

We use FDA-approved ice packs to ensure the product remains at the proper temperature for up to 48 hours during transit, gradually returning to room temperature. In some locations, this can be extended to a maximum of 4 days to keep the kimchi cool

Our Customers Reviews (Delivery)
From regional WA
Very happy with my purchase, delivery was prompt and my Kim Chi package was delivered with care and delicious all the way for us to enjoy in regional WA! Thank you so much :)
From North Queensland
The fastest delivery I've ever experienced—it took only two days—and I live in North Queensland.
From regional NSW
I live in a regional NSW area and I like to buy Kimchi in bulk. Usually I have to wait until I'm closer to Sydney like in Blacktown 3 hours away at the Asian groceries. it was so quick that the good packaging stood up to the fermentation pressure even in the summer heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
- The bag is bloated; it seems like it’s going to explode.
- There are bubbles in the jar; is that normal?
- What happens if my kimchi arrives warm?
Our Answer!
Yes, It is a normal process and it should be safe to consume.
Kimchi is a fermented food, so it should remain safe to consume even if it's kept out of the fridge during delivery. Freshly local made kimchi is best left at room temperature for a day or two to enhance fermentation. The fermentation process creates a natural preservative environment, where beneficial bacteria (like lactobacillus) produce lactic acid. This acid inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria, allowing the kimchi to remain safe at room temperature for a certain period. However, it’s important to refrigerate the kimchi as soon as possible after receiving it to enjoy well-aged kimchi for an extended period.
